Fragmented Golden Phone

  • The cell phone before edition.

  • Cut out phone silhouette from background.

  • Make picture achromatic (but keep original phone layer without background in the bottom layer, make it invisible).
  • Image > Adjustments > Black and White.

  • Choose none preset. Press Ok.

  • Go to Image > Levels. Move central marker to the left a little bit.

  • Apply Layer Style effects to create gold effect.

  • Apply the following adjustments.

  • Place original phone again above golden layer.

  • Apply Black and White adjustment and choose Red Filter for blue phone. To create the following high contrast effect, try different preset filters for other colors.

  • Choose Channels Palette, duplicate Green Channel

  • Load selection for green channel. Return to RGB channel.

  • Return to Layer Palette (keep selection).
  • Click Layer Mask icon (add Layer Mask).

    Change Phone screen color

  • Select screen, copy selected area and paste it into a new layer.

  • Apply the following layer style adjustments to phone screen.

  • Merge created layers except background layer.
  • Add Layer Mask to golden phone layer.
  • Fill it with black and white linear gradient.

  • Create a new layer, draw sphere using big soft brush.
  • Apply radial Gradient Overlay.

  • Create a new layer, apply Clouds filter to it.

  • Apply Auto Levels adjustments to clouds.

  • Return to clouds layer, add Layer Mask.

  • Apply Overlay Blending Mode.

  • Draw translucent smoke in a new layer.

  • Apply black and white linear Gradient Overlay to smoke layer.

  • Merge smoke and clouds layers wit background.

  • Type any text with words, symbols and numbers.

  • Duplicate background layer and place duplicate above phone layer, apply Lighten Blending Mode.

  • Load selection for text and add Layer Mask to duplicated background layer.

  • You should get something like on the image below.

  • Load selection for phone and remove superfluous areas.

  • Apply Drop Shadow layer style effect.

  • Duplicate golden phone layer and place it above letters layer.

  • Load selection for text again and add Layer Mask.
  • Apply layer mask and remove it.
  • Add new Layer Mask and fill it with Linear black and white gradient erase bottom part..

  • Apply Free Transformation (105% *105%)

  • Apply Outer Glow effect to them.

  • Duplicate previous layer, transform it (increase size).
  • Apply radial gradient.

  • Duplicate all phone layers, merge them, a apply vertical flip and Skew transformation. Place created layer in the bottom layer.
  • Play with opacity, add layer mask fill it with black and white linear gradient.

  • Place any glitter fireworks image, erase superfluous areas.
